"Release" featured in award winning docu "The Mixtress" Music by Aloud has been featured in a short documentary on audiophile and The Mixtress founder Jules Bennett.The film was made by Wideshot Studios, and placed 16th (out of 122) in the 2008 International Documentary Challenge. "Release" is the opening track from Aloud's 2006 album Leave Your Light On, and also opens the film and soundtrack. The soundtrack to the film won Best Soundtrack in the 2008 International Documentary Challenge. Aloud was featured alongside acts such as The Walkmen, The Cardigans, and fellow Bostonians The Cyanide Valentine. The Mixtress is a mix CD exchange/found art project based out of Portland, OR with the aim of exposing "the listener to a variety of music and create a tangible and visceral connection in this digital age". Check out the documentary below! 6/20/2008 Update: The Mixtress Online was asked by the International Documentary Challenge to remove the short film from YouTube. The film is currently being considered for distribution and an e-mail from a producer at the IDC states they are "not crazy about the idea of putting the films on the web for free for the general public." We will post any new information on The Mixtress documentary when we get it.
